Join proportion expert Steve Bass for a two-day intensive course on Proportions I.  There are few courses like this offered anywhere.  This course can open doors into design theory and practice long overlooked.  The course is an introduction to the theories of proportion as developed by Pythagoras, Euclid, Plato and Fibonacci, and developed into architecture by Vitruvius, Vignola, and others.  Instructor Steve Bass tells a story, so that the student begins with metaphysics and ends with the architecture of a portico.  Mr. Bass teaches by drawing.  The student is encouraged to draw along with the teacher.  (12 AIA Learning Units available)
Reading: Proportion I & II by Steve Bass (unpublished handout).
Supplies needed for class: Compass, straightedge, pencils and any other dry media you would like (Pentel pens, etc.).  Notebooks will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: This course will run from 10am-5pm (with a 1-hour lunch break) on Saturday & Sunday at Ft. Mason: Building C, Room 210.  Lunch is not provided, but there are several restaurants near Ft. Mason.  Click HERE for a map of Ft. Mason
