Mark A. Wilson, architectural historian, author, and the first lecturer in our spring 2012 Maybeck Lecture Series, is returning to give a second lecture to the Northern California Chapter on Bay Area architect Julia Morgan, America's first independent woman architect.  She designed nearly 750 buildings, more than any other major American architect, including Frank LLoyd Wright.  Morgan was a pioneer in Green Design, and together with Bernard Maybeck, she was a leader in the First Bay Tradition, the Bay Area's first nature-based design philosophy.  Mr. Wilson will sign copies of his newly revised book, "Julia Morgan: Architect of Beauty" prior to the lecture, during the wine reception hosted by the Northern California chapter.
